Summer Concert Series
We have something for everyone with our three free concert series that run throughout the summer with Music Mondays at Springwood Park (diverse music on Mondays), Asbury Park LIVE (emerging artists on Wednesdays) and Asbury Park Concert Band (big band music on Thursdays).
Music Mondays in Springwood Park will run in 2018 from June 25 through August 27 from 6:00pm to 8:30pm. The series features diverse musical styles with a broad appeal to all of the Asbury Park community. Springwood Park is located on Asbury Park’s west side, about 3 blocks from the train station.
The Asbury Park Concert Band performs every Thursday evening at 7:00PM next to McLoone’s on the boardwalk, making this its 73rd season in the summer of 2018. The band offers a varied musical selection from marches, classical, jazz, dixieland, opera, and big band to Broadway. Several concerts each year feature students from Monmouth County schools who perform along with the professional musicians. These popular shows provide students from middle to high school age a chance to fine tune their skills and experience performing in a professional setting.
Free music Wednesday nights in Asbury Park right next to MOGO and Watermark on the Boardwalk will continue in the summer of 2018. This series features emerging artists. Check the website for times

BLOG
They say I should blog, so here’s a first.
Having just compiled a collection of summer activities my daughter and I often miss as they’re fairly scattered, thought to share with others here. As good to refer to whenever a free night comes along and we want to make the most of the summer as it drifts along.
The list shows mostly free outdoor movies and music and festivals near the Jersey Shore, as well as plays in the parks within a radius of Central Jersey, along with some notable fun, events in NYC.
As an event photographer myself, as well as doing portraits of 2 and 4 legged subjects, it’s always a treat to attend something or a mix of productions.Since the weather has warmed this year I’ve been doing a variety of shoots.
These included one recently for the Consulate of Monaco at the U.N. for a lovely function they organized, plus the Monaco Yacht Show celebrated in New York City the month prior. Also some festive, holy celebrations for nearby synagogues. And for Lunch Break, the magical “food pantry” out of Red Bank for a fundraiser Jersey Shore restaurant tastings at the Monmouth Yacht Club, also one for them at the Town & Country Store. And some outdoor family sessions in a few different park locations.
Plus it's great photographing dogs, and especially capturing them looking happy together with their owners for combined portraits, and finally have been also helping local animal rescue groups, Furry Friends in Need and 3 Hearts 4 Paws with their available loves.
Hope that all doesn’t sound too cheesy!
So here’s the Summer entertainment guide as mentioned. Hope to see you at some of these!
Plus a few links to recent photo work for anyone who may be looking.
